Development Manager
Location: US
West Coast / Flexible and will operate from a Home Based Office
Industry: Pharma Chemistry API &
Manufacturing Services
This position will be
located on the West Coast (location flexible) and is a high profile
role with strategic involvement for the marketing and growing the
company's business model as a global, integrated supplier of API
services to pharmaceutical companies. They offer capabilities through
all the stages of development and commercial manufacture of an API
including contract research and development and manufacturing services
from pre-clinical through to commercial launch and manufacture. They have facilities in the US and Europe
and their plants are registered with the FDA and the DEA.
Description
Responsible for West Coast sales territory and major
accounts and active accounts with responsibility for management all
sales activities within that region, and achieving budgeted
revenue. Travel up to 40% may be required; primarily to meet with
clients, customers, prospects, and target companies as well as to
attend trade shows.
Duties and Responsibilities

Initiate frequent customer contact,
making independent sales calls and directing sales negotiations on
behalf of Company to maximize sales revenue and profitability.

Develop and implement a comprehensive
sales plan for the territory.
·
Obtain, communicate and identify
opportunities, customer needs, competitive information, trends and
influences, including market data, on all accounts within the
territory.
·
Develop and implement lead development
plan to expand business in assigned territory.
·
Assess the competitive activity within
assigned territory and recommend appropriate strategies address this
activity.
Education
and Experience Required
·
B.S. or advanced degree in Chemistry or
allied sciences.
·
Three to five years experience in a
sales position.
·
Experience in the laboratory or related
experience in a company that services the pharmaceutical industry.
·
Strong verbal and presentation skills.
·
Demonstrated ability to work as part of
a team as well as lead the team effort required.
·
Strong self-motivation and ability to
work independently is essential.
·
Ability to plan, organize and oversee
multiple, independent RFP’s.
·
Ability to successfully work with
multi-cultural teams.
